We are in the post modern era where science and technology are the corner stone’s on which the edifice of society rests. The advances in communication have put us on the information super highway and the nations which are slow to change are bound to lag behind in progress and prosperity. The nation needs more Engineering technocrats. The Govt. Polytechnic College, Koratty is offering Diploma programs, to optimize its energy to emerge as a center of excellence. This integrated educational campus emphasizes a student’s learning to happen outside the classroom as much within. Learning to be beyond prescribed curriculum. At Govt. Polytechnic College, Koratty students are constantly exposed to new knowledge and gain insight into the future, the trends, the opportunities and new thinking which are possible with help from specialists.
College History
This institution started functioning as a Technical High school in 1964 and was upgraded to a Polytechnic in 1994. The College now offers three Diploma courses in the branches of Polymer Technology (PT), Electronics and Instrumentation (EI), and Textile Technology (TT). This is one of the leading institutions under Govt. sector offering value based technical training and education.
Located between Thrissur and Ernakulam, the cultural and commercial capitals of Kerala, Koratty is a small but beautiful village. The Polytechnic is situated at a distance of 300 meters east from NH-47 and 400 meters from the Koratty Angady railway station. The Cochin International Airport is a distance of 15 Km from Koratty. The Information Technology Park and the KINFRA industries park, a government undertaking meant to boost the development of Thrissur district and the Government press are close to our institution.
